Subject Listing

The main objective of Foundation in English is to produce students who are proficient and competent in English language. In addition, this programme aims to prepare students for their undergraduate studies, as well as providing them exposure to campus life. The emphasis of the programme content is on the four  language skills; reading, writing, grammar, and listening, that help polish their proficiency in English. Students will also study a subject called Critical Thinking and Study Skills that will equip them with study, analytical and problem-solving skills. They will also be exposed to literary text in two literature subjects and provided with the knowledge and skills of information technology. Upon completing this programme, students are expected to be proficient and competent in English, as well as become a critical thinker who is able to work independently and cooperate in groups
